While the CNN is very good for positional evaluation (intuition), it lacks the ability to "look ahead" or simulate long-term consequences, which is fundamental in chess strategy.
Analogy (The Intelligent Planner): This is where Monte Carlo Tree Search (MCTS) becomes essential. Teachers can explain MCTS as an intelligent planner. While brute-force algorithms traverse the move tree broadly and without selective criteria, MCTS uses the CNN's prediction to guide its search selectively.
